Letter cutting:
The objective meaning of the word and the anonymity
of scribes. Ars longa, vita brevis. The harmony, balance
and rhythmic spacing of letters falls between the eyes and re-erects
the mind, even if the language is Persian. Disharmonious forms
and discrepancies of spacing distract attention. The slight tremor
of hand-cut letters has the appeal of a voice. At stake is the
unity of meaning.
